Retreat Recordings

Full Retreats at Your Fingertips

As much as we might like to take time off to retreat, whether for relaxation or to intensify our practice and deepen our understanding, it just isn’t always possible. As busy professionals ourselves, we understand that demanding schedules can make finding the time and resources for retreat a real challenge. This is why Dharma Publishing offers full-length retreat recordings. Recorded live, on-site during retreat we are slowly building our offering of full retreat teachings to support students like you. Whether you were an attendee and simply want a reference for continuing your study and practice, or you missed a retreat and would like to study on your own, our retreat recordings selection brings the richness and depth of retreat instruction to your home.

Given the length of these recordings, all retreat recordings are made available as MP3 CDs, allowing us to present full retreats on only a single disc. These CDs will play in MP3 enabled CD players and car stereos and can be copied onto your computer for use in iPods and MP3 players. In the future we also plan to offer downloads of all our retreat recordings as well to make connecting with these inspiring, transformative teachings even easier! You can browse all of our retreat recordings below or in our online store.

We hope you enjoy listening to our retreats and hope to see you in person someday! Feel free to browse our upcoming retreats, and check back here regularly for new retreats as they become available!

Knowledge of the mandala has its origins in the Buddha’s enlightenment. When the obscurations to realization dropped away, the Buddha saw how all forms emerge from the emptiness of space in a process of continual becoming. From this realization came the teaching that everything the human mind names and establishes as fixed is subject to change; that anything can be shaped into forms that direct the mind toward enlightenment. This realized truth, encoded in the structure of the mandala, has been transmitted through the Nyingma tradition form the eighth century to the present day.

The Sanskrit word mandala suggests both origin and its infinite continuity. It is linked to the words mantra and manas (an aspect of mind), and thus to speech and realization. As the perfect field of realization, the mandala arrives at no final point that can be touched, has no root that can be unearthed; displays no edge whose location can be discovered.
